Jason Sheldon – Sculptor, Metalsmith
As I think about why I do the things that I do in my art, my Dad comes to mind. He was always working with his hands and I, especially when I was young, spent a lot of time with him at his work. He taught me, even though I was unaware of this at the time, how to make things that had not been before and to notice things with an inquisitive eye.
My Dad’s influence in my life has made me a great observer of my surroundings, the structure of things made by man and moreover the things made by God. So I guess I copy what I see, sort of.
