Everett Best – Wood Carver/Sculptor/Turner

Every piece of wood is unique. Even amongst various pieces of the same type of wood, no two are alike. Each has its own shape and formation, its own character, even its own story. For example, wood from a tree that survived a forest fire is like no other.

What I love about carving is the chance to meet each piece of wood and to try to let its individual beauty speak for itself. With each piece I encounter something new. With each piece I make a new friend. The learning never stops. That’s the true gift in being a carver. And there is also the joy in seeing any pleasure the finished carving might bring to others.
